What differentiates Family Flex’s early care and education (ECE) offerings from other care providers?

Family Flex believes that a child’s most important teachers are his or her parents. Therefore, in order to fully support a child’s learning experience, Family Flex must also fully support parents. This is accomplished by offering extended hours, on-site enrichment classes, dinner for children and parents, diapers and wipes for purchase on-site and corporate sponsorships. Communication plays a vital role in this supportive framework, which is why the Touchpoints philosophy, developed by Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, is used by all staff members.

The core of Family Flex’s educational philosophy is the Creative Curriculum. The curriculum focuses on child-directed activities, varied roles of the teacher, assessments of the children’s needs and interests and collaboration between teachers and parents. All Family Flex teachers are trained in early childhood education and curriculum implementation. This enables teachers to provide children with appropriate activities for learning the skills that will help them be successful in school.

When can I schedule a tour of the Center?

Family Flex is available for a tour anytime based on your schedule.  Please feel free to stop by 1005 Acoma Street or contact us to set a time if that is best for you.

Is Family Flex accredited?

ECE centers may apply for accreditation after two years of operation. Family Flex’s goal is to gain accreditation as soon as possible through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. It also intends to go through Colorado’s Qualistar rating process.

How secure is Family Flex’s facility?

Very secure. Access into the building is restricted by use of a pin code on a keypad located at the main entrance. Access to the building’s lobby and classrooms is further limited as it requires inputting a different pin code on a keypad tied to a second security door.

What’s the parking situation around the Family Flex facility?

Family Flex has its own off-street parking spots for short-term parking to pick up and drop off children. In addition, on-street parking for up to two hours is available in front of the building on Acoma Street and along its south side on 10th Avenue.

When is Family Flex closed?

Major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Are there any parent involvement requirements at Family Flex?

Understanding the multiple demands on parents’ time, Family Flex asks that each parent of a daytime program enrollee volunteer one hour per month. By taking the time to read to your child’s classroom, join a class field trip or help out in the kitchen, you’ll enrich the experience for yourself and your child. Of course, parents are welcome to visit Family Flex at any time to participate in activities or simply observe a classroom.
