Family Flex’s preschool program is available for children ages three years through five years.

During the evening program, the children are encouraged to participate in structured activities that mimic their parents’ experience and are conducive to constructive interactions with other children and adults such as play acting and team games. Dinner and a light snack are also integrated into the evening, along with a bedtime routine, which includes diaper changes/toilet usage, hand washing, brushing of teeth, changing into pajamas, soft music and stories.

During the daytime hours of the weekend program, the children play outdoors (weather permitting) and indoors, participate in group musical or dance activities and engage in teacher-directed games. Occasionally, a group will take a field trip to nearby art galleries, museums or the central library.

Snacks and clean-up times are integrated with the day’s activities, as well as diaper changes/toilet usage and hand washing. The evening schedule is similar to that of the weekday evening program.

Providing a backdrop for Family Flex’s care is the nationally renowned Creative Curriculum (more information). The staff uses the Touchpoints communication philosophy, developed by Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, to help build strong relationships with parents.

Family Flex’s evening and weekend care is available for $8.00 per hour per preschooler.
